Each boy begins by building trust with an adult mentor. Strenuous activities and daily chores foster a solid work ethic and countless other desirable character qualities. Then, framed by a relationship with a mentor, the adolescent can tackle the destructive choices that had held him or her back. We also use individual and group counseling to bring change in attitudes and behaviors.

Boys at New Horizons Boys Ranch are provided a fully accredited school that also uses independent study courses. All credits accumulated transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced quality of the coursework suits our students well, allowing them to learn in the way they find best and catch up on any missed credits. We believe discipline plays a key role in any worthwhile education, and we convey this in our classroom. In addition, vocational training topics include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.

Lasting family restoration takes place only with the full cooperation of parents. We request parents to attend three family workshops during the year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their child at our facility. We facilitate frequent contact between parents and adolescents using tools such as letter writing, which promotes communication and relationship building without the emotional charge of face-to-face contact.

We are a Christ-centered program that leads adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, therapy, hard work and plenty of play, we believe in values and character traits that will be profitable for your child into adulthood. Please consider looking outside of Arlington Heights, Illinois to see how our caring program can bring restoration to your family.
