New Horizons Boys Ranch is a faith-based residential school focused on character maturity and family restoration. We provide treatment to 20 boys in a home-like atmosphere where struggling adolescents develop constructive life attitudes, grow in their belief, live in a safe and nurturing environment, and overcome their challenges and problems. We balance hard work with engaging recreation such as fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our beautiful mountainous location is a great place for backpacking, camping and hiking.
Our school strives to encourage academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by teaching discipline and mentoring them to rebuild relationships. Teens arrive at New Horizons Boys Ranch from across the country, including from Fort Worth, Texas, and often find it beneficial to grow in a new environment separate from local peer groups.
Every boy begins by building a relationship with an adult mentor. Strenuous activities and daily chores contribute to a solid work ethic and countless other attractive character qualities. Then, in context of a relationship with a mentor, the adolescent can work through the conflicts that had held him or her back. We also provide individual and group counseling to bring change in attitudes and behaviors.
Boys at New Horizons Boys Ranch are provided a fully accredited school that also uses independent study courses. All credits accumulated transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced quality of the coursework suits our students well, making it possible for them to learn in the way they find best and catch up on any missed credits. We believe discipline plays a key part in any successful education, and we convey this in our classroom. In addition, vocational training topics include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
Lasting family restoration takes place only with the close involvement of parents. We request parents to attend three family workshops per year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their child at our facility. We assist with frequent contact between parents and teens using tools such as letter writing, which promotes communication and strengthens relationships without the emotional charge of face-to-face contact.
We are a faith-based youth ranch that leads adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, therapy, hard work and plenty of play, we believe in values and character traits that will be profitable for your child into adulthood. Please consider looking beyond Fort Worth, Texas to see how our caring program can lead to restoration in your family.
