New Horizons Boys Ranch is a Christian residential program with a mission for character development and family unity. We provide treatment to 20 boys in a home-like atmosphere where troubled adolescents take on more positive life attitudes, grow in their faith, live in a safe and nurturing environment, and conquer their challenges and problems. We balance hard work with engaging recreation including fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our picturesque mountainous location has much to offer in backpacking, camping and hiking.
New Horizons Boys Ranch strives to promote academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by instilling discipline and helping them to rebuild relationships. Teens attend New Horizons Boys Ranch from across the nation, including from Glendale, Arizona, and often find it beneficial to experience a new environment away from local peer groups.
Every child begins by establishing a relationship with an adult mentor. Strenuous activities and daily chores build a solid work ethic and countless other positive character qualities. Then, in context of a relationship with a mentor, the child can tackle the conflicts that had held him or her back. We also use individual and group counseling to bring change in attitudes and behaviors.
Students at New Horizons Boys Ranch are provided a fully accredited school that also uses independent study courses. All credits earned transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced attribute of the coursework suits our students well, making it possible for them to learn as they do best and catch up on any missed credits. We believe discipline plays a key part in any successful education, and we convey this in our classroom. Additionally, vocational training topics include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
True family restoration takes place only with the total commitment of parents. We request parents to attend three family workshops during the year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their teen on our campus. We support frequent contact between parents and adolescents using tools such as letter writing, which reinforces communication and strengthens relationships without the emotional charge of face-to-face contact.
We are a faith-based youth ranch that guides adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, therapy, hard work and plenty of play, we stand by values and character traits that will serve your child for the rest of his or her life. Please consider looking outside of Glendale, Arizona to see how our caring program can lead to restoration in your family.
