New Horizons Boys Ranch is a faith-based residential program with a heart for character maturity and family renewal. We provide treatment to 20 boys in a home-like environment where troubled adolescents take on more positive life attitudes, flourish in their faith, live in a safe and nurturing environment, and conquer their challenges and problems. We offset hard work with engaging recreation such as fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our gorgeous mountainous location has much to offer in backpacking, camping and hiking.
Our school endeavors to encourage academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by teaching discipline and helping them to rebuild relationships. Teens come to New Horizons Boys Ranch from across the nation, including from Tucson, Arizona, and often find it valuable to spend time in a new environment away from local peer groups.
Every boy begins by building trust with an adult mentor. Challenging activities and daily chores contribute to a solid work ethic and countless other desirable character qualities. Then, framed by a relationship with a mentor, the child can tackle the conflicts that had held him or her back. We also offer individual and group counseling to bring change in attitudes and behaviors.
Boys at New Horizons Boys Ranch are provided a fully accredited school that also consists of independent study courses. All credits earned transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced attribute of the coursework suits our students well, making it possible for them to learn in the way they find best and catch up on any missed credits. We believe discipline plays a key part in any productive education, and we communicate this in our classroom. Additionally, vocational training topics include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
Genuine family restoration takes place only with the close involvement of parents. We request parents to attend three family workshops each year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their teen at our facility. We assist with frequent contact between parents and adolescents using tools such as letter writing, which strengthens communication and relationship building without the emotional charge of face-to-face contact.
NHBR is a Christ-centered program that leads adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, counseling, hard work and plenty of play, we stand by values and character traits that will serve your child for the rest of his or her life. Please consider looking beyond Tucson, Arizona to see how our caring program can bring about restoration in your family.
