Our therapeutic boarding school is a Christian residential program with a heart for character maturity and family restoration. We provide services to 20 boys in a home-like environment in which struggling adolescents adopt more positive life attitudes, grow in their faith, experience a safe and nurturing environment, and conquer their challenges and problems. We offset hard work with inviting recreation including fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our beautiful mountainous location provides excellent opportunity for backpacking, camping and hiking.
A therapeutic boarding school that endeavors to encourage academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by teaching discipline and coaching them to rebuild relationships. Adolescents attend New Horizons Boys Ranch from across the country, including from Arizona, and often find it advantageous to spend time in a new environment detached from local peer groups.
Every child begins by building a relationship with an adult mentor. Engaging activities and daily chores build a solid work ethic and countless other attractive character qualities. Then, in context of a relationship with a mentor, the teen can overcome the conflicts that had held him or her back. We also use individual and group counseling to improve attitudes and behaviors.
Boys at New Horizons Boys Ranch are provided a fully accredited school that also uses independent study courses. All credits accumulated transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced attribute of the coursework suits our students well, allowing them to learn in the way they find best and catch up on any missed credits. We believe discipline plays a key part in any worthwhile education, and we convey this in our classroom. In addition, vocational training topics include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
True family restoration happens only with the full cooperation of parents. We ask parents to attend three family workshops during the year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their teen at our facility. We support frequent contact between parents and teens using tools such as letter writing, which reinforces communication and strengthens relationships without the emotional charge of face-to-face interaction.
We are a faith-based program that leads adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, counseling, hard work and plenty of play, we believe in values and character traits that will serve your child into adulthood. Please consider looking beyond Arizona to see how our caring program can bring restoration to your family.
