New Horizons Boys Ranch is a faith-based residential program focused on character development and family unity. We provide treatment to 20 boys in a home-like atmosphere in which struggling adolescents take on more positive life attitudes, flourish in their belief, experience a safe and nurturing environment, and overcome their challenges and problems. We balance hard work with engaging recreation such as fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our picturesque mountainous location is a great place for backpacking, camping and hiking.
A therapeutic boarding school that endeavors to promote academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by teaching discipline and helping them to rebuild relationships. Adolescents attend New Horizons Boys Ranch from across the country, including from Arkansas, and often find it beneficial to spend time in a new environment detached from local peer groups.
Every adolescent begins by establishing a relationship with an adult mentor. Challenging activities and daily chores foster a solid work ethic and many other attractive character qualities. Then, in context of a relationship with a mentor, the adolescent can tackle the conflicts that had held him or her back. We also provide individual and group counseling to improve attitudes and behaviors.
Boys at New Horizons Boys Ranch are provided a fully accredited school that also offers independent study courses. All credits earned transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced quality of the coursework suits our students well, making it possible for them to learn in the way they find best and catch up on any missed credits. We believe discipline plays a key part in any worthwhile education, and we communicate this in our classroom. Additionally, vocational training topics include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
Genuine family restoration takes place only with the total commitment of parents. We request parents to attend three family workshops per year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their teen at our facility. We support frequent contact between parents and their children using tools such as letter writing, which strengthens communication and strengthens relationships without the emotional charge of face-to-face interaction.
We are a Christ-centered program that leads adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, counseling, hard work and plenty of play, we stand by values and character traits that will be profitable for your child for the rest of his or her life. Please think about looking outside of Arkansas to see how our caring program can lead to restoration in your family.
