4446_81066702828_2344705_nNHBR is a Christian residential program with a heart for character maturity and family unity. We provide treatment to 20 boys in a home-like atmosphere in which troubled adolescents develop more positive life attitudes, grow in their faith, find a safe and nurturing environment, and conquer their challenges and problems. We offset hard work with engaging recreation such as fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our picturesque mountainous location provides excellent opportunity for backpacking, camping and hiking.

A Place Where Key Relationships Facilitate Change

Every adolescent begins by establishing trust with an adult mentor. Strenuous activities and daily chores contribute to a solid work ethic and numerous other attractive character qualities. Then, in context of a relationship with a mentor, the child can tackle the destructive choices that had held him or her back. We also use individual and group counseling to improve attitudes and behaviors.

Residents at New Horizons Boys Ranch are provided a fully accredited school that also offers independent study courses. All credits received transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced attribute of the coursework suits our students well, permitting them to learn in the way they find best and catch up on any missed credits. We believe discipline plays a key role in any productive education, and we communicate this in our classroom. In addition, vocational training topics include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.

A Place Where Family Restoration is Paramountfamily

True family restoration occurs only with the full cooperation of parents. We require parents to attend three family workshops each year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their teen at our facility. We facilitate frequent contact between parents and their children using tools such as letter writing, which promotes communication and strengthens relationships without the emotional charge of face-to-face interaction.

A Place Where Hearts and Motivations are Changed Forever

NHBR is a Christ-centered youth ranch that leads adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, counseling, hard work and plenty of play, we believe in values and character traits that will benefit your child all of his or her life.
