New Horizons Boys Ranch endeavors to encourage academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by instilling discipline and coaching them to rebuild relationships. Adolescents come to New Horizons Boys Ranch from across the nation, including from Everett, Washington, and often find it beneficial to spend time in a new environment separate from local peer groups.
New Horizons Boys Ranch is a faith-based residential program with a heart for character maturity and family unity. We provide services to 20 boys in a home-like environment where troubled adolescents adopt more positive life attitudes, grow in their belief, experience a safe and nurturing environment, and conquer their challenges and problems. We balance hard work with inviting recreation such as fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our gorgeous mountainous location has much to offer in backpacking, camping and hiking.
Each adolescent begins by building trust with an adult mentor. Challenging activities and daily chores contribute to a solid work ethic and countless other desirable character qualities. Then, in context of a relationship with a mentor, the adolescent can tackle the conflicts that had held him or her back. We also provide individual and group counseling to bring change in attitudes and behaviors.
Students at New Horizons Boys Ranch are provided a fully accredited school that also consists of independent study courses. All credits earned transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced quality of the coursework suits our students well, making it possible for them to learn in the way they find best and catch up on any missed credits. We believe discipline plays a key part in any successful education, and we communicate this in our classroom. In addition, vocational training topics include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
Genuine family restoration happens only with the total commitment of parents. We ask parents to attend three family workshops per year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their child on our campus. We facilitate frequent contact between parents and their children using tools such as letter writing, which promotes communication and strengthens relationships without the emotional charge of face-to-face contact.
We are a Christ-centered youth ranch that leads adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, therapy, hard work and plenty of play, we teach values and character traits that will benefit your child all of his or her life. Please think about looking beyond Everett, Washington to see how our caring program can lead to restoration in your family.
