New Horizons Boys Ranch strives to encourage academic, emotional, spiritual, and physical fitness by instilling discipline and coaching them to rebuild relationships. Adolescents come to New Horizons Boys Ranch from across the country, including from Fort Collins, Colorado, and often find it constructive to grow in a new environment away from local peer groups.
New Horizons Boys Ranch is a Christian residential program with a heart for character development and family unity. We provide services to 20 boys in a home-like environment where troubled adolescents develop constructive life attitudes, flourish in their belief, experience a safe and nurturing environment, and overcome their challenges and problems. We balance hard work with engaging recreation such as fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming. Our picturesque mountainous location provides excellent opportunity for backpacking, camping and hiking.
Every teen begins by establishing a relationship with an adult mentor. Engaging activities and daily chores foster a strong work ethic and countless other desirable character qualities. Then, framed by a relationship with a mentor, the adolescent can tackle the destructive choices that had held him or her back. We also use individual and group counseling to improve attitudes and behaviors.
Residents at New Horizons Boys Ranch are provided a fully accredited school that also consists of independent study courses. All credits earned transfer easily to any other school. The self-paced attribute of the coursework suits our students well, making it possible for them to learn as they do best and catch up on any missed credits. We believe discipline plays a key role in any productive education, and we communicate this in our classroom. In addition, vocational training topics include automotive, construction, culinary, life skills, and ranching.
True family restoration takes place only with the total commitment of parents. We ask parents to attend three family workshops each year for coaching, family therapy and to visit their teen at our facility. We support frequent contact between parents and adolescents using tools such as letter writing, which strengthens communication and strengthens relationships without the emotional charge of face-to-face interaction.
We are a faith-based youth ranch that guides adolescents to find their place in life. Through mentorship, counseling, hard work and plenty of play, we believe in values and character traits that will serve your child for the rest of his or her life. Please consider looking beyond Fort Collins, Colorado to see how our caring program can lead to restoration in your family.
